Trying to avoid emotional pain ultimately increases suffering.

The secret is often to do the exact opposite of what our emotions want us to do.

 

Tolerate.

no emotion lasts forever

          Even the most intense emotions can be endured until they eventually fade, like the embers of a fire.

The more we practice sitting with difficult emotions, the easier it gets to do so.
